This week’s episode is the first in a series that features instrumental songs made by bands with singers. Unencumbered by lyrics or the personalities and egos of their vocalists, these bands were able to let their true instrumental identities shine through, in the process sometimes creating musical statements unlike anything else in their catalogs. This episode focuses on the decade of the 60s, with a particular emphasis on the psychedelic end of the spectrum because… well, what else would you expect?
