Classic Rock & Beyond ~ Episode #17

Hosts:  Drew and Doug Pine

February 9, 2026

Show Notes

Drew and Doug return to the KVSH studio for the February 2026 edition of Classic Rock and Beyond, blending strange headlines, maritime grievances, surprise guests, and a deep dive into late-’90s and early-2000s pop rock.

This month’s Weird News alphabetical journey through the states spans the northern plains, the deep South, and the desert:

Montana:
The Weird News team investigates an incident at the Vortex and House of Mystery, a long-running roadside attraction known for its gravity-defying illusions, slanted floors, and decades of baffled visitors.

Nebraska:
Farmers across the state report irregular and unexplained patterns appearing in mature cornfields, prompting speculation and uneasy curiosity.

Nevada:
A missing persons search near Las Vegas briefly veers into far stranger territory when investigators encounter something unexpected — and possibly extraterrestrial.

In Things That Make Doug Mad, Doug takes aim at Washington State Ferries after two local routes recently canceled service due to… fog? Yikes. Drawing on his experience as a professional mariner, Doug shares pointed thoughts on visibility, preparedness, and what fog should — and should not — shut down.

Immediately following the rant, the show takes an unexpected turn with an impromptu in-studio interview with Martin Feveyear, renowned recording engineer, musician, and local island treasure.

Musically, Drew dives headfirst into a ’90s pop-rock rabbit hole, spinning a nostalgic set packed with era-defining staples from Third Eye Blind, Matchbox Twenty, Goo Goo Dolls, Gin Blossoms, Vertical Horizon, Eve 6, Barenaked Ladies, Smash Mouth, Lit, The Verve Pipe, Dishwalla, Tonic, and more — a reminder of a time when melody, radio hooks, and emotional over-sharing ruled the airwaves.

Mystery, frustration, surprise conversations, and sing-along nostalgia — February on Classic Rock and Beyond.
