Show Notes
Back in 2012, producer and sax player Stevie Jones decided he’d had enough of pitching pop tunes to A&R types and decided it was time to pursue his love of playing funk, blues and, in particular, American soul music of the 1960’s and 70’s. Thus Brother Strut was born…and the music…well it was just plain…funky…as you will hear.
For these tunes, Stevie Jones is joined by Otha Smith on guitar, doing some incredibly funky solos, along with Sam Tanner doing vocals and playings some wonderful piano solos. And not forgotten, Stevie plays some smokin’ sax solos, as well as keyboard. This is all supported by Paul Turner on bass and Karl Vanden Bossche on drums. And does this band do some great funky cover tunes? You bet!
