VoV is excited to announce the return of its annual fundraiser, THE VOICE! (of Vashon), celebrating 26 years of community radio on Vashon. This event is more than just a birthday bash—it’s an open call for local talent to step up, sing out, and support a good cause. And you get to vote!
7PM Friday, October 17th at Vashon Center For The Arts
Youth and Adult contestants will have the unique opportunity to perform for celebrity judges for prizes and performance opportunities, and compete for the coveted People’s Choice Award, chosen by the Vashon audience in-person and at home via YouTube live stream.

The evening will be emceed by local vocalist, Sarah Howard, with musical performance by the Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter, Isaac Slade, and an appearances by some of VOV’s most entertaining cast of characters.
Isaac Slade is an American musician. He was the lead singer of Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum rock band The Fray. Their debut album, How To Save a Life, sold three million copies worldwide. The band toured the globe for 20 years, releasing four albums. He co-chairs a music education initiative with Colorado Governor Jared Polis, aiming to provide universal music access for every K-12 student in Colorado. He also works with several organizations in the fight to end human trafficking. Isaac is currently working on a variety of other entrepreneurial and creative projects, including running the vinyl record shop on island, Side Stack Records.
Sarah Howard is a versatile singer and spirited performer with deep roots in the Vashon Island music scene. Her rich, warm vocals and approachable stage presence have made her a favorite at local concerts, festivals, and community gatherings. Beyond the microphone, Sarah is known for her supportive mentorship of young musicians and her commitment to fostering the island’s creative culture. As emcee for this year’s event, Sarah brings not only her musical talent but also her passion for bringing people together, ensuring the celebration is filled with joy, laughter, and a true sense of community.
