Rising Waters Collective is taking opera out of the theaters and into the community. At their inaugural event on October 11, they will offer a multi-venue, multi-interpretation reimagining of Francis Poulenc and Jean Cocteau’s La voix humaine (The Human Voice). Entitled The Vox Project, it will feature six distinct performances of the same work, interpreted by a diverse group of local artists—including two of Vashon’s own operatic singers. Together, the collective explores the power of opera as a force for change.
