Show Notes

In his recent book Crop Circles: Awakening Consciousness in the Vale of Pewsey, author and former Vashon resident Mark Schrader explores one of England’s enduring contemporary mysteries: vast, intricate designs that appear overnight in farmers’ fields—beautiful works of art not created by the farmers themselves.

Mark joins us with the support of two friends, as he now lives with Parkinson’s disease. What emerges is a conversation not only about crop circles, but about curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong devotion to mystery.

Mark calls himself both an adventurer and a wonderer. He has sailed the world’s oceans—from the Panama Canal to Hawaii, Alaska, and French Polynesia—worked with NOAA, and served as crew aboard the three-masted schooner Regina Maris, once a working maritime trade vessel.

For more than thirty years, he has studied, visited, and written about crop circles, bringing a philosophical lens and a deep love of the unknown to his explorations.

Today, Mark lives with his partner, ZuVuYah, in a wooden yurt in the Olympic Mountains, surrounded by sweeping views of forest, mountains and sky.

Join us to consider: What if the mystery of the circles can lead to awakening?
