Drew and Doug are back in the KVSH studio with a fresh episode of Classic Rock and Beyond, recorded June 8, 2025 — the hottest day of the year so far. This episode features a mix of music, the usual segments, and an homage to Mars Attacks.
The latest Weird News tour through the 50 states spotlights Arkansas, California, and Colorado:
- From Arkansas: a traveler tries to check a cooler full of frog legs and squirrel meat at the airport — and ends up offering it to fellow passengers.
- From California: the legend of a 17th-century Spanish ship full of black pearls stranded in the desert resurfaces.
- From Colorado: the town of Louisville elects a short-haired tabby cat named Hazel as its second feline mayor.
Florida Man also makes an appearance — this time waterskiing up the Sewanee River, dodging gators and personal demons alike.
Things That Make Doug Mad returns with a summer-themed grievance: people who can’t park within the lines.
This episode also debuts a new musical feature: The Drew and Mark Show Archives, this time, featuring a live-in-studio track from Seattle rock trio Dusty, titled Kill A Hotel, recorded live at VoV’s Jean Bosch Broadcast Studios sometime between 2016–2018.
Musically, the setlist is packed with indie and classic rock staples from the likes of Weezer, Franz Ferdinand, Coldplay, Green Day, Fleetwood Mac, and ZZ Top. Mid-show, Drew pays homage to Mars Attacks with a creatively sequenced musical break — but the full playlist brings the heat from start to finish.
