The Thank Goodness It’s Funky Show

Bob caught the serious radio broadcasting bug growing up listening to New York City AM radio stations during the sixties, where he was an avid listener of Murray the K and Cousin Brucie, and was greatly influenced by the birth of FM radio in the mid-60’s, which led him to put together his own pirate radio station during high school. He was able to expand and hone his broadcasting skills at college where he did a variety of music shows.

At one point he did an early morning show which routinely started off with Led Zepplin’s Stairway to Heaven. “I wasn’t being mean…I just figured if you were serious about getting up at 6am I’d help you out.”

Bob’s been active with VoV for the past several years helping with the live sports broadcasts as engineer and half time dj. “It’s been a lot of fun especially with our team of announcers who do such an incredible job. Now it’s time to spread my wings and share my musical interests, which are really eclectic. I love funk music because it makes me smile and my body move. I’ve liked to dance ever since my sister taught me how to do the twist.”

The TGIF Show airs Fridays at 11pm for all the weekend night owls. Or you can put a smile on your face and get your body moving by checking out the current past shows below. Click and get funky!!
