Merna Hecht, one of Vashon’s most notable story tellers brings stories of young refugees to REALTalk listeners and host Susan McCabe as she describes the young people and their poems with the support of The Stories of Arrival, Refugee & Immigrant Youth Voices Poetry Project.
Her project is the perfect foil to the current climate of fear mongering about refugees and it illuminates the fact that the world is facing the largest refugee crisis since WWII. Tune in to hear these young people’s stories in their own words, and how damaging global politics is when it’s personal.
