What’s it Like in a Prison?

The Klatch is proud to welcome Ms. Deb Sheehan as our guest. You won’t want to miss this one. Ms. Sheehan is a formerly incarcerated woman who has made her way back to society and is now instrumental in raising awareness around women’s social justice issues, prison reform and the children of prisoners. She is a paralegal with the firm DuBois Levias Law Group and works closely with Washington State Representative Tarra Simmons, who is herself a convicted felon, lawyer, and civil rights activist for criminal justice reform. 

Deb will share her personal experience in prison. She will detail day-to-day life, as well as how the system is different for women than for men. We will discuss prison reform, what is needed, and what is most misunderstood by the general public.
