Cognitive decline doesn’t mean it’s time to stop having fun, and Vashon’s Old Friends Club is proof. Every Wednesday at 9:30 am, a group of elders start a day of stimulating fun with friends at the Vashon Presbyterian Church.

It’s called the Old Friends Club, and not only does it give folks with dementia and Alzheimer’s a day of exercise, entertainment and stimulating social life, it gives their caregivers five precious hours to care for themselves. The organization is led by knowledgeable professionals in the fields of gerontology and nursing, and the value of their programming is backed by solid research.

Tune in as host Susan McCabe learns from Old Friends Club founders, Nancy Schoeneberg, Wendy Noble and Rev. Leigh Weber, all about the benefits of friendship and fun as we age.
Monday and Wednesday at 101.9FM, on the Voice of Vashon website and the VoV app at your convenience.
