Email from Voice of Vashon Correction: Annual Deer Hunt Oct 17-Nov 1, 2026 2026-10-11 VOICE OF VASHON REPORTS THIS IMPORTANT MESSAGE PARTIAL CLOSURE OF ISLAND CENTER FOREST An earlier email listed incorrect dates for the annual limited deer-hunting season at King County Parks’ Island Center Forest. This year’s hunt will take place October 17–November 1, 2026, rather than October 10–31. They apologize for the confusion. Hunt dates are now selected each year rather than following the previous schedule. During the hunt, trails in the Natural Area will remain open for public use. The rest of the park will be closed to all other users except hunters. Please use the corrected dates when planning your visit. This message was posted at 11:15am on Sunday.
