Governor Inslee recently signed into law Senate Bill 6164 which allows for prosecutors to consider a variety of factors when WA state prisoners seek resentencing — things like constructive rehabilitation, age at incarceration, details of their original case and more. Join host Susan McCabe when she talks with Lawrence Jenkins from Stafford Creek Corrections Center and his wife, Aleta Haskins, live in the VoV studio.

Lawrence’s story puts a human face on the potential impacts of SB6164. In his eight years of incarceration, Lawrence has become an accomplished visual artist and created a prison-wide gardening program that not only supplies food banks outside the prisons, but also offers rehabilitation opportunities to others in prison.
