Episode 28 – Articles Confederation – November 15,1777

Drafted by a committee appointed on 11 June 1776, with John Dickinson, an American Founding Father, lawyer, and politician as principal writer.

The Articles were formally adopted by the Continental Congress on 15 November 1777.

Ratification required all 13 colonial states; completed when Maryland ratified on 1 March 1781.

Replaced by the U.S. Constitution in 1789 due to structural weaknesses.
