Welcome to Vashon250, a local celebration of America’s 250th birthday.  Join Jon Flora and Bruce Haulman each week in 2026for interesting stories about our collective American and Vashon Island heritage. Our intent is to provide stories that link us all back to the Revolutionary beginning of our country by exploring how the issues and events of that era are part of the history we are making today,.  We’ll also explore how Vashon has experienced it all in its own distinct and local way

We want to acknowledge the involvement of the Vashon History Museum as well as several other islanders with interest in particular aspects of American and Vashon history.
