Robert Horton is a member of the National Society of Film Critics and the Programmer-Historian in Residence at the nonprofit Scarecrow Video in Seattle. For many years he wrote about film for the Everett Herald, Seattle Weekly, and Film Comment. He’s a former Fulbright Specialist and Smithsonian Journeys speaker, a regular member of far-flung film-festival juries, and newly a member of the Humanities Washington Speakers Bureau for 2021-23.

Sally Jean Fox is an author, coach, and artist who believes that we’re all creative—and that expressing that creativity—in any form—can open the door to a more joyful and meaningful life. In her book Meeting the Muse After Midlife, she describes her journey from consultant, coach, and university professor to an explorer in the realms of creativity and spirit. As she says, “Your life is your most creative work.”

Sam, aka Sammy V, grew up on the East Coast listening to the New York City radio stations of the 50s, 60s and 70s, broadcasting the astonishing music of that era. His love of popular music is undiminished, marveling at the ever evolving nature of the genre and the great artists who define it.

Susan McCabe arrived on Vashon Island directly from Chicago, and almost never looked back. She came with a background in small market radio news and big market international advertising, PR, and events production. She answered the siren call to start an Internet radio station with a small pack of other radio refugees around 2000, and she’s been a part of Voice of Vashon since.
