This week on The Klatch we will discuss the long-lost art of letter writing and how it applies in modern times. Hosted by Linda Nygaard and co-hosted by Susan McCabe, our show features two of Vashon’s lively third grade students and their pen pals, Susan McCabe and Charlotte Tienken. Margie Butcher, a Vashon third grade teacher and Board member of Women Hold the Key, will bring to life Vashon’s pen pal program designed for the students and their elder pen pals. We are excited to hear their stories about this last year of writing letters, what they’ve learned, and how they will carry this effort into the future. These kids have big dreams and lots to say. Rumor has it that the elders learned as much (or more!) than the children did. Please tune in and enjoy the banter from these precocious soon-to-be 4th grade students and their elder friends who say this was one of their favorite experiences ever.
