The all-volunteer VoV Emergency Alert Team answers your Old Man Winter questions. We’ll keep you updated with information that will help you stay safe and comfortable despite the raging storm and the long cold nights without power. 

We Get the Word Out

Our Emergency Alert Team gets the word out through VoiceOfVashon.org and 1650 AM, plus our free smartphone streaming app, a 4,000-address opt-in email list, and 3,000 Facebook followers. When the power goes out, knowledge is power. Island Emergencies can arise at any time: a storm, an earthquake, a large fire, a tsunami, or a pandemic that lasts for months or even years.  Truly, we are your island connection. Whatever happens, you know you have access to reliable, local information 24/7, 365 days a year.

VoV depends on your support. People like you keep Voice of Vashon on the air and the Emergency Alert System up and running. We have passionately dedicated volunteers, but we still must pay rent and power bills, maintain our internet connections, repair transmitters, and more.
