No one thinks it can happen to them, until it does. There are many factors, such as age, that may put you at risk for falsely confessing, but perhaps the most surprising is innocence itself. Innocent people are more likely to waive their rights and to fall prey to the pressures that police use to coerce compliance. This subject is especially resonant for Amanda and Chris right now as Amanda was just recently convicted yet again of criminal slander for signing the statements police coerced her into signing.
