Miguel is back at the Library!

July 5th, 2024 by Jeffrey L Hoyt

I know. Applying to government bureaucracies for services that they claim are there for you can be really maddening. There always seems to be so much red tape and sometimes questions we don’t even understand. King County’s Health and Social Services Department, though, is an exception to this generality – because of one man, who has made it his business to see that Islanders can easily access and maintain a relationship with his department. His name is Miguel and once a month he comes to the library on the Island to sign you up for health insurance, food benefits, including food stamps, also ORCA lift, the metro reduced fare program, This month Miguel will be at the Library on Saturday, July 13th from 12 noon to 3PM. He’s a really terrific guy and Hispanic applicants will be pleased to know, se habla Espanol. This has been a Voice of Vashon Public Service Announcement.
