REALTalk – Peter Serko on AIDS Day

November 30th, 2021 by Susan McCabe

In the last few years World AIDS Day hasn’t passed without an observance from Peter Serko. This year is no exception. Join host Susan McCabe as she learns about this year’s collaborative World AIDS Day event on Vashon.
Working with Vashon Remembrance artist West McLean, VHS instructor Andy James and island director Chris Boscia, Serko will open the month-long exploration of AIDS activism December 2 with VHS drama students recreating the speech “Why We Fight” given by AIDS activist Vito Russo in 1988.
December 4th, Serko & Company will stage a reading of the Tony nominated play “Mothers and Sons” at the Vashon Theatre. Tune in to find out how Peter Serko and a chunk of activist Vashonians will spend the month teaching us all about activism done well. It’s sure to be REAL.
