Guess who’s 25 years old. The Voice of Vashon, that’s who! And we intend to celebrate big time with “The Voice of Vashon” singing contest and fundraiser. Inspired by the renowned NBC show, the event aims to showcase the incredible vocal talent within the Vashon Community. Scheduled for Tuesday, October 15th at the Vashon Theatre, The Voice of Vashon is open to both teen and adult contestants who are passionate about singing. Interested participants are invited to submit a 30-second video performance of a favorite cover to sarahh@voiceofvashon.org. Whether singing a capella or accompanied by an acoustic instrument, contestants with compete in two categories 14-18 and 19 and older. Selected contestants from each category will have the unique opportunity to perform live at the Vashon Theatre on the Tuesday date. Distinguished celebrity judges will choose finalists from each category. The final winners will be decided by the audience, making it crucial for contestants to rally their friends and family to attend and show their support, having made a suggested donation of ten dollars at the door or got themselves VIP table seating at $100 per couple. The Winning Voice will be honored with the Voice of Vashon Golden MicrophoneTrophy, a solo gig at the KVSH studio at First Friday Live and the coveted opening spot at the Birthday Bash in 2025.
