It’s a proven fact that if you get two Vashonians in a room to discuss a given topic, you’ll hear at least three different opinions.  That’s what A Vashon Minute is all about — Island views on Island topics.  For this episode, the topic is the Thunderbird Treatment Center, scheduled to open in 2025 with a unique indigenous approach to treatment and recovery from addiction. Join host Susan McCabe as she explores the benefits of having such a center on the Island, as well as some of the perceived problems, with Leslie Brown and Liz Illg, members of the advisory board for Friends of Thunderbird, an independent volunteer organization. The pair addresses some Islanders’ concerns about the residential facility and its impact on Island life.
