This is something that the King County Department of Local Services does every two or three years: and that is to reach out to the unincorporated areas – like Vashon – to see if there are folks there who might have ideas about what would make their communities better places to live. Once informed , the Department will then work with communities to make a Community Needs List – a list of desired services, programs, facilities and capital improvements – for each area. King County will then use these lists to help make budget decisions next year. So does this strike a spark in the old noggin?
