I am the chair of the Vashon Social Service Network, which is made up of eleven on island social service non-profits. While I am not formally attached to any of these agencies, I do loosely work with a few. Years ago I coordinated the Dental Van. Today with grant money from Granny’s I run a senior dental program. Both of these programs go through the Vashon Interfaith Council to Prevent Homelessness (IFCH).

My largest focus now is helping people who have been laid off due to the Coronavirus pay their rent. The Virus Rent Fund, set up though IFCH, raises money and then distributes these donations for rental assistance. Roughly 25% of workers on Vashon are collecting unemployment and we have more unemployed who do not collect this.
