Vashon: Then & Now #3 – Washington State Ferries

June 28th, 2016 by Bruce Haulman

Episode three of the documentary series “Vashon: Then & Now” finds co-hosts Lisa Reeves and Tag Gornall sailing the waters of Puget Sound on board the Cathlamet and Issaquah boats of the Washington State Ferry system. Tag takes us with him to tour the Pilot House and the seldom seen Engine Room.
Reporter Chris Austin presents four intriguing ferry stories from the past and has an informative discussion with author Jean Findlay about the boats of the Mosquito Fleet. And old-timey newsreader Jeff Hoyt presents exciting ferry news from the 1920’s. Singer/songwriter Bill Wood provides the perfect ending to a day on the water.

Produced for Voice of Vashon by Susan McCabe “Vashon: Then & Now” is made possible by a grant from King County’s 4 Culture.
