Vashon: Then & Now #4 – Granny’s Attic

June 28th, 2016 by Bruce Haulman

Episode 4 of “Vashon: Then & Now” is devoted to the rag tag majesty of Granny’s Attic a much loved and valued phenomena on Vashon Island. From it’s improvised plant sale beginnings in 1975 to it’s present day incarnation as a powerhouse thrift store, Granny’s serves the community in myriad ways.
Co-hosts Lisa Reeves and Tag Gornall explore the history, the myths and the present day impact that Granny’s has on the community, it’s customers and it’s own employees. Of course, there is an Insider’s Tour plus appearances by special reporter Chris Austin and an extra special moment with old-timey newsreader Jeff Hoyt.
There are even cameos from VTN director Michael Monteleone, editor Dennis Lambert and recently returned host Bruce Haulman. This episode is the final installment of Season One.

Produced for Voice of Vashon by Susan McCabe “Vashon: Then & Now” is made possible by a grant from King County’s 4 Culture.
